Masayoshi Sukita

Masayoshi Sukita (Japón, 1938), estudia con Shisui Tanahashi tras diplomarse en el Japan Institute of Photography, y al momento empieza a trabajar para Daiko Advertising Inc. En 1965 se muda a Tokio donde se une a la Delta Mondo realizando reportajes de moda masculina por los cuales gana varios premios. A finales de los años 60 desarrolla un gran interés por la subcultura y viaja al Festival de Woodstock. Desde ese momento empieza a frecuentar las diversas escenas musicales y artísticas de ciudades como Nueva York o Londres. En 1972 realiza un reportaje a Marc Bolan, de T-Rex, y es en aquella ocasión cuando se encuentra por primera vez con David Bowie. Desde esa primera foto seguirá una colaboración que se ha prolongado durante toda la vida del cantante, y que tiene como cénit la fotografía de la portada del disco «Heroes». Por supuesto, Sukita ha fotografiado a otros muchos artistas y ha trabajado también para el mundo del cine.
